Objective

Architects Fabrizio Berger and Carlo Sordillo designed an immersive pathway aimed at delivering an emotional experience. Visitors are surrounded by sensory stimuli—lights, colors, and content—that guide them on a journey through time. The environment, seemingly composed of luminous volumetric perimeters, was conceived with robust metal structures painted in gunmetal gray, a color choice that evokes the distinctive hues of the Guardia di Finanza and the solidity of its long tradition, accumulated over more than two centuries of operational service. As visitors traverse the path, they walk on wooden platforms treated with artisanal aging techniques. The creaking of the wood evokes atmospheres of times past, stirring the memories of those present. The pathway passes through a time tunnel displaying historical artifacts and paintings, whose colors progressively brighten, following the flow of time. At the end of the tunnel, a bright LED wall projects images representing the various fields of action of the modern Guardia di Finanza, always oriented towards the future.

Solutions

Manaly met the clients' needs by creating a modular structure that is easily assembled and disassembled, suitable for repeated use. The setup was conceived without the use of binding walls, allowing visitors to freely admire the contents of the Sacrario delle Bandiere, rich in meaning and values. The external structure of the pathway is made of metal and equipped with an integrated lighting system. The platform features a "flamed" finish, giving it an "antique board" appearance and increasing its fire resistance. The exhibition will be presented again in Turin in October and November 2024 and will then be "disassembled" for other occasions. The boxes will be divided and used individually depending on the event. All materials used for the exhibition were carefully selected for their reusability and recyclability, and were assembled in strict compliance with safety standards. The project was realized in collaboration with architects Fabrizio Berger and Carlo Sordillo for the design, Digital Network for the technological aspect, and Alu for the metal structures.
