CP Company: 50 years of success
After 12 months of celebrations and special collaborations, CP Company has chosen to conclude the celebrations for its 50th anniversary during Milano Moda Uomo 2022, opening its archives to the public through an exhibition at the BASE space in Milan. The protagonists are 70 pieces from the historical archive, including avant-garde fabrics and timeless models, which have marked the history of the brand.
Context
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary, the Italian brand CP Company created the temporary exhibition “Cinquanta: A retrospective on 50 years of sportswear innovation by Cp Company” at the BASE in via Bergognone in Milan. Through the brand's exclusive archive items, collections of original materials and projects that have marked the history of the brand, the exhibition summarized five decades of Italian sportswear and casualwear.
Lorenzo Osti, son of the founder Massimo and president of CP Company, declared: “This exhibition closes a whole year of celebrations, telling the story of CP Company through ten special projects exhibited here. We also focused on the archive, a journey through product innovations, both textile and formal, that this company has developed throughout its history ".

Company
CP Company is an Italian brand that produces and distributes archival military men's clothing, workwear and sportswear all over the world.
The company is internationally recognized thanks to the fame of its founder Massimo Osti, "the father of urban sportswear", a revolutionary designer who founded the Chester Perry brand in 1971, then renamed CP Company in 1978.
The brand immediately met with great success thanks to an unconventional and functional imprint of the classics of the male wardrobe combined with an intense research and innovation of materials and fabrics: from the introduction of the "Garment dyeing" technique to the personalized dyeing service for its customers.

Objective
The event took place during Milan Fashion Week 2022, an event that annually attracts thousands of fans and professionals of the fashion sector to the Lombard capital, and which gave the company the opportunity to receive highly targeted visitors. The exhibition "Cinquanta: A retrospective on 50 years of sportswear innovation by Cp Company", had the objective of concluding 12 months of celebrations with a unique event, which could tell visitors the history, culture and special projects developed by the company from 1971 to today. It was also an opportunity to describe in detail the collaborations developed in the fiftieth year, with companies of the caliber of Emporio Armani, Sebago and Adidas, through a special area within the exhibition.
Solutions
Manaly took care of the executive design of the spaces, born from the creative project of Random Studio, directly taking care of the logistics and construction site activities. The intense design and planning activity, together with the timely coordination of all the actors involved, allowed us to create an engaging exhibition space, with attention to the smallest details, and which fully reflects the values, mission and communication objectives of the client. In particular, the alternation of static and interactive display structures made it possible to transport the visitor into the world of CP Company with a visual account of the culture of the brand, the garments and the people who wore them.
“We all really enjoyed working with you across the entire process, and were happy to be able to extend on the Pitti installation and see our designs/creative intentions coming to life in such a beautiful space and to the scale, with the attention to detail we always imagined. I hope that the disassembly was as smooth as the install. Please pass along our gratitude to all involved, and we will surely be in touch soon.”
