Objective

LAFER Group turned to Manaly after internally developing an ambitious and large-scale trade show stand concept, seeking support to engineer the various elements and make the project technically and economically feasible. The main challenge was the creation of a portal structure with a clear span approaching 8 meters, without relying on auxiliary support systems such as trusses or suspension points. The structure also featured a curved connection between wall and ceiling, adding further complexity to its structural stability. In addition to this key element, all other parts of the stand required a high level of attention to detail in both finishes and shapes, in order to create an exhibition space fully aligned with LAFER’s values: a company capable of innovating, evolving, and naturally looking ahead.

Solution

The first step involved an engineering study to define the most suitable construction method for the main structure of the trade show stand. Following the structural analysis and technical report, production began using 30 mm plywood ribs combined with 10 mm longitudinal steel plates. The next phase focused on the secondary elements, where lightweight and easy-to-assemble solutions were selected to ensure a fast, precise, and efficient installation process. The reception desk was custom-designed and manufactured for LAFER, reflecting their iconic curved “L” shape, enhanced by integrated front LED lighting on both the top and base.In addition to the structures produced, LAFER incorporated several multimedia elements, including large LED walls and displays, to effectively communicate the features of their products and services. The final result is a distinctive and refined trade show stand, combining structural impact, design attention, and technological integration.

With the Manaly team, a very smooth collaboration was established from the very beginning. They were always available and present, both during the design phase—with ongoing meetings and discussions—and at the trade fair, where they handled last-minute requests and adjustments with great responsiveness.
We really appreciated this practical and collaborative approach, which made the work simpler and more effective.
